Congressional Seminar Essay Contest for High School Students. This essay contest is a major project of The NSCDA held under the auspices of the Washington Workshops Foundation, a private nonprofit educational program in American government for high school students. Winners receive full tuition, including seminar materials.
The Congressional Seminar Essay Contest The Congressional Seminar Scholarship: The Society of The Colonial Dames participates on a national level in the privately sponsored Congressional seminars, The Washington Workshops, by awarding scholarships to weeklong seminars for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade high school students.
The three students are Georgia’s winners in the national essay contest sponsored by The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America (NSCDA) and offered through the Americus Town Committee, and the Albany Town Committee, NSCDA-Georgia.

The winners of the 2019 Essay Contest in Oklahoma are: Joyce Hanby, Harman Kaur and Christine Nguyen. Joyce Hanby attends Mount St. Mary High School; Harmon Kaur and Christine Nguyen attend Edmond Santa Fe High School.
